Learn how to turn on an E9 beacon and set it up in Spotto.
1. Unscrew the top of the beacon to reveal the battery.
2. Hold down the small white button for 2 seconds. A blue light will briefly light up.
3. Screw the top back on.
Login to Spotto then click the plus icon in the top right of the screen, then New Asset.
Now give your asset a descriptive name and hit save. The video below has some useful tips.
Under Bluetooth Tags, hit 'Add a Beacon' and enter the MAC address printed on your beacon. Click 'Add' when you're done.
By the way, a MAC address is a sequence of 12 characters that uniquely identifies your beacon — like a license plate, and looks like 00:00:00:00:00:00, but sometimes without the colon separators.
Now's a good time to attach the tag to your asset to keep the two together. If you have a cable-tie handy, use that.
Click 'Finish Setup' to finalise your new asset with a beacon tag.
Now let's check that your tag is being detected. Bring the asset close to an online reader then type the name of the asset in Spotto Search. If everything is working as it should, your new asset should appear in the search results along with the last location.
If you haven't setup a Spotto B1 Bluetooth Reader yet, follow this setup guide to begin.
